The Masdar Institute in Khalifa University presented a unique solution that uses a perforated black fabric placed under a solar collector to drive a HDH (Humidification de-humidification) solar desalination process. The use of this fabric helped overcome the barriers of low water production and high equipment costs associated with conventional HDH Systems.
