The technology designed by Agua Para El Pueblo is an electricity-free technology for removing turbidity from contaminated surface water sources, scalable to fit the needs of many communities. Their water treatment plant uses a semi-automatic hydraulic chemical doser, vertical flocculation, upflow sedimentation, floc blanket, plate settlers, stacked rapid sand filtration and disinfection technologies to treat contaminated surface water and convert it to potable drinking water.
